Echo Point Lighthouse, also known locally as “Pocahontas Light,” is a 6′ tall ornamental lighthouse and private navigational aid located on the the shore of Great Diamond Island in Portland, Maine.
The painting depicts Echo Point Lighthouse as seen from the deck of one of the Casco Bay Lines ferries. A seagull perches atop it adding a touch of whimsy to the artwork and giving the viewer something to compare the lighthouse’s height to. I made the lighthouse 6″ tall, making the painting 1/12th scale.
Also pictured in this painting is the lush green trees and dramatic rocky shoreline that make Casco Bay so beautiful and popular in the Summer.
