West Quoddy Head is a peninsula of high stone cliffs in Lubec, Maine. It is the eastern most point in the United States. It is most well known for the iconic red and white striped lighthouse which shares its name.

West Quoddy Head Light, along with its keeper’s house and oil building, was built in 1808. It’s primary function was as a navigation aid to guide ships through the Quoddy Narrows between Lubec, Maine and Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada.

This painting depicts the lighthouse and keeper’s house as seen from West Quoddy State Park looking out over the Atlantic Ocean with Campobello Island in the distance.

The original painting has been sold, but prints are available at my official prints site, fineartnewengland.pixels.com
