‘Welcome to Portland’, is about the beauty of Portland, Maine in the spring. I wanted to capture the vivid whites, greens, and reds that greet visitors to the city. Even though there are taller buildings in the city now, I wanted to emphasize the red brick facade and gothic towers of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, reminding the viewer of how imposing this structure must have been when it was the tallest building in Portland.
