I drew this architectural drawing after walking around my neighborhood on a peaceful, gray, snowy day. I loved the contrast of the snow against the dark blue-gray of the Dutch-barn style house. The snow hadn’t been falling for too long and I could see the fence changing colors from its light weathered gray to the darker, wet richness of the natural wood. I was also fascinated how the snowflakes looked darker against the light gray sky instead of disappearing into it.
