This painting depicts Bear Island Light atop the cliffs of Bear Island as viewed from the water. The dramatic rocky coast, band of lush evergreens, and 19th century lighthouse make this a quintessential Maine island landscape.
Cranberry Isles is a town in Maine comprised of five Islands. Bear Island is the northern most island and sits just off the entrance to Northeast Harbor.
